Human Resources

Nursing
Skilled Nursing care is our highest priority at Rest Haven - York. This specialized care is provided by a Team of caring professionals. A Plan of Care is developed that is Resident-focused and includes input from all members of the multi-disciplinary Team. Each Resident’s care is reviewed regularly in Care Plan Meetings involving the professional Team along with family members and the Resident.
Social Services
The Social Service Department evaluates a Resident’s needs and prepares a comprehensive history. Social Services is available to provide information on community resources, to help with special problems, and to help the Resident and the family adjust to placement.
Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy involves individualized therapeutic exercise programs established to increase strength and restore physical function. Treatments may include gait retraining, heat and whirlpool modalities to alleviate pain, and other specially designed therapies.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy involves teaching of compensatory techniques to improve the level of independence in activities of daily living. During Occupational Therapy, Residents practice everyday skills of self care, empowering them to remain as active as possible.
Speech Therapy
Speech Therapy redevelops or maintains expressive and receptive communication skills for Residents. A certified Speech Pathologist is available to educate and assist Residents and their families in maximizing these skills and thereby improving the overall quality of life.
Recreation Therapy
The philosophy of the Recreation Therapy Department is to provide meaningful and interesting programs which are designed to promote the physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each individual.
Regularly scheduled religious services are held on site, lead by local clergy of all faiths. Everyone is welcome to attend. Rest Haven - York also employs a full-time Spiritual Counselor who notifies the church or pastor upon a Resident's admission. The Counselor also provides support and guidance as needed to Residents and their families.
Food Services
The Food Services Department works to enhance Residents' lives through good nutrition, compassion and dedicated teamwork. New Residents are visited by a member of our Team to discuss food preferences. The nutrition status of each Resident is assessed and monitored by a Registered Dietitian.
